THERAPY FOR INSOMNIA

Now offering cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia

Dr. Orna is pleased to offer cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I) to all patients in Alaska and Oregon.

CBT-I is recommended as the first-line treatment for chronic insomnia — before medications or supplements. This evidence-based therapy works by changing thoughts and actions, offering significant and durable sleep improvement even with long-standing sleep issues. No medications or supplements are required.

The treatment is delivered in 6 to 8 weekly or biweekly online sessions. In the first appointment, we will spend up to 60 minutes doing a thorough review of your sleep and health history. If CBT-I is a good fit, follow up sessions will last 30 to 45 minutes. We can bill many insurance plans.

Dr. Orna has completed didactic training in CBT-I through the Stanford University Sleep Health and Insomnia Program, learning the most flexible (and naturopathic) version of this therapy. She is participating in provider-support sessions with oversight from Stanford faculty through March, 2026.

what my

patients are saying

“I finally feel like I have someone in my corner to help me with my health. Dr. Izakson is so knowledgeable. You will feel taken care of and be impressed by her empathetic nature and diligence. It feels wonderful to have a doctor that goes the extra mile to figure out what is going on.” — Carole, 46, she/her

“Working with Dr. Orna has been a unique and life-changing experience. I’ve felt seen for exactly who I am, exactly how I am in the present moment, and cared for as the individual I am rather than a diagnosis or condition I have carried with me throughout my medical history.” — GM, 30, she/her

“I came expecting to get something for my body aches, not do something about them. I was already fit and active. Modifying my diet and exercise made no sense to me, but that’s what Dr. Orna prescribed. When I finally surrendered and did the drill, my aches vanished along with 21 pounds! I’ve chosen to continue seeing Dr. Orna monthly and now I say, ‘Yes Ma’am’ to her advice. Because it works.” — Kelly, 60, he/him

“As my gut health is improving, I feel access to a broader range of emotions. I think my body is beginning to feel safe to access happiness, sadness, anger, and a whole spectrum of other emotions, instead of being in fight or flight all the time.” — Virginia, 28, she/her

“I feel so great!!” — Micah
