Now offering cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia
Dr. Orna is pleased to offer cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I) to all patients in Alaska, Oregon and Connecticut.
CBT-I is recommended as the first-line treatment for chronic insomnia — before medications or supplements. This evidence-based therapy works by changing thoughts and actions, offering significant and durable sleep improvement even with long-standing sleep issues. No medications or supplements are required.
The treatment is delivered in 8 to 10 weekly or biweekly online sessions. In the first appointment, we will spend up to 60 minutes doing a thorough review of your sleep and health history. If CBT-I is a good fit, follow up sessions typically last 45 minutes. We can bill many insurance plans in Alaska and Oregon. In Connecticut all appointments are cash at time of service, with the paperwork you need to seek insurance reimbursement.
Dr. Orna has has a certificate in CBT-I through the Stanford University Sleep Health and Insomnia Program, where she learned the most flexible (and naturopathic) version of this therapy. She also has advanced training in functional psychiatry, women’s health and chronic disease, giving you a holistic perspective on your health.
